Bath Grand Cru Celebrates a Winning Season in the 2026 Brunel League

What a fantastic season for our club! We’re delighted to celebrate a clean sweep of the 2026 Brunel League competitions, taking home both the league title and the knockout cup.

The Brunel League is home to some of the most competitive and prestigious boules competitions in the region, making these achievements all the more special.

Our club entered two teams in both competitions: Grand Cru, captained by Mark Thompson, and Premier Cru, captained by Martin Ellis. Both teams did us proud, delivering an outstanding season of boules.

Grand Cru claimed outright first place in the league, finishing top of a highly competitive field of 14 teams from across the region. This is a particularly impressive achievement for Mark and his squad, as several players are still relatively new to the club and are only in their second season. Their success is a wonderful testament to the team's commitment, teamwork and growing confidence on the piste.

Meanwhile, Premier Cru secured the Brunel Knockout Cup in emphatic style, overcoming a team from Saltford in the final to bring home the second major title of the season.

With the league trophy and knockout cup both coming home to our club, we can look back on a truly memorable and successful season. Congratulations to everyone who played their part in these fantastic results!

Here's to more great boules and continued success in the seasons ahead!
